In today’s world, environmental issues have become one of the most serious challenges facing humanity. While some people believe that the main environmental problem is the loss of certain species of plants and animals, others argue that there are more urgent concerns. In my opinion, all of these problems are interconnected, and focusing on only one aspect is not sufficient.
The extinction of species is indeed a significant environmental problem. The loss of biodiversity disrupts ecosystems and weakens nature’s balance. Every living creature, no matter how small, plays a role in maintaining harmony in the environment. For example, the disappearance of bees affects pollination, which in turn impacts food production and the overall food chain. Therefore, protecting endangered species is crucial for the stability of life on Earth.
However, limiting the discussion to the loss of species overlooks other serious environmental problems such as climate change, pollution, and deforestation. Climate change, in particular, has wide-reaching effects that contribute to the loss of species in the first place. These issues are not separate but deeply connected. For instance, deforestation causes climate change, which then destroys habitats and leads to extinction. Hence, it is impossible to solve one problem without addressing the others.
In conclusion, while the extinction of certain species is undoubtedly a major issue, it cannot be seen as the only or even the main environmental problem. All environmental issues — from pollution to climate change — are parts of the same chain, and they must be dealt with together to ensure a sustainable future.
